About the Role
As a Disbursement Analyst, you will sit at the heart of our settlement payment operations — owning the end-to-end processing of payments, tax form preparation, and cash management activities across active legal settlement matters. Reporting to the Manager of Disbursements, you will collaborate daily with our Data Services, Print/Mail, and Client Services teams to ensure every dollar reaches the right claimant with accuracy and speed. This is a non-exempt, full-time role for a detail-driven financial professional who thrives in a high-accountability environment.
What You'll Do
- Execute the creation and distribution of settlement payments in strict accordance with court orders and matter-specific requirements
- Conduct payment compliance reviews and distribution audits to verify accuracy before and after disbursement
- Process replacement payments, deposits, and bank wires while maintaining complete and accurate transaction records
- Prepare tax forms and apply basic payroll and tax knowledge to support regulatory compliance across settlement matters
- Investigate payment issues — tracing discrepancies, coordinating with payment service vendors and banking partners to reach resolution
- Manage confidential financial data and company funds with the highest standard of integrity and procedural adherence
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in payroll, banking, or a closely related financial processing role
- GED or High School Diploma required; Associate Degree or higher preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook with the ability to accurately process high volumes of financial transactions
- Proven ability to read and interpret financial or legal documents, identify discrepancies, and apply independent judgment under expedited timelines
- Strong mathematical aptitude and organizational discipline, with a track record of managing multiple concurrent priorities without errors
Bonus Points
- Familiarity with basic payroll tax rules, W-9/1099 preparation, or IRS reporting requirements
- Prior experience working with payment service vendors, banking partners, or escrow/trust accounts
