Lead complex risk transformation across financial services at scale
The Role
Capco is seeking a Financial Risk Transformation Principal Consultant (Senior Manager) to join our growing Finance, Risk, Regulatory & Financial Crime (FRRF) capability. In this role, you'll lead strategic client engagements, advise senior stakeholders including Chief Risk Officers, and drive transformation across risk functions. You'll play a key role in shaping large-scale programmes spanning liquidity, credit, market, and model risk, helping clients modernise their risk capabilities through data, technology, automation, and AI-enabled ways of working. You'll leverage approved AI tools to enhance insight, improve delivery efficiency, and support better decision-making while applying responsible AI practices and appropriate human oversight.
What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex risk transformation programmes across liquidity, credit, market, and model risk, identifying opportunities to leverage AI-enabled workflows and automation to improve client outcomes.
- Advise senior stakeholders on regulatory frameworks including Basel, IFRS 9, and BCBS 239, translating regulatory requirements into practical transformation strategies and sustainable operating models.
- Design and implement enhanced risk controls, target operating models, governance frameworks, and data-driven reporting solutions that strengthen regulatory compliance and business performance.
- Drive the responsible adoption of AI, automation, and advanced analytics to improve risk processes, reporting, forecasting, and decision-making while ensuring appropriate governance and validation.
- Contribute to business development, proposition development, client relationship growth, and the continued expansion of Capco's Financial Risk capability.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience delivering financial risk transformation programmes within financial services or management consulting.
- Deep expertise across liquidity risk, credit risk, market risk, and model risk, with strong knowledge of Basel, IFRS 9, BCBS 239, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience leading complex transformation programmes and influencing senior stakeholders, including Chief Risk Officers and executive leadership teams.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills, with experience using approved AI tools and automation to enhance delivery while maintaining sound professional judgement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex risk challenges into practical, business-focused solutions.

- Experience applying AI, automation, or advanced analytics within financial risk transformation or regulatory reporting environments.
- Proven track record in proposition development, business development, and supporting go-to-market strategies.
- Experience with enterprise data architecture, risk technology platforms, model implementation, or regulatory reporting solutions.
- Leadership experience including mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing consulting teams.
- Experience delivering cross-functional transformation initiatives across Risk, Finance, Technology, Treasury, and Compliance.
