Position Purpose
The Loan Operations Post Closing Specialist is part of the team responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all loan-related account information on the Bank’s FiServ Premier core operating system. This includes the set-up and boarding of new loans, renewals, and modifications, as well as routine transaction processing, investigation, and troubleshooting. A broad range of commercial, mortgage and consumer accounts are managed in this area. This system specialist is expected to function as a subject matter expert on the daily operation of the loan segment within the core operating system.
This specialist is responsible for a strong working knowledge of loan account configuration and behavior on the core system, as well as the understanding of how related maintenance and monetary transaction flow impact the general ledger and accounting area.
This specialist maintains strict adherence to accounting principles, balancing and reconciliation processes, and regulatory guidelines.
An employee in this role also works closely and cooperatively with teammates in the Accounting, Credit and Lending areas.
Position Responsibilities
Set-up and Maintenance activities, for all commercial and consumer loans, including:
- New loan account setup, activation, funding, and posting of all associated disbursements, fees and costs.
- Renewal and modification of existing loans.
- Loan rate, payment, and amortization adjustments.
- Various other modification and maintenance tasks.
Loan Transaction Processing:
- Including, loan payments, credit line draws, loan payoffs, and escrow processing.
- Performing any related balancing and verification procedures.
Loan Account Review, Research and Remediation, activities, including:
- Quality and accuracy review of account data set up and monetary history.
- Confirmation of loan structure, terms and conditions housed on core system.
- Loan account adjustments, updates, and corrections, as needed.
- Assist with reconciliation research and troubleshooting as needed.
- Assist with questions related to audit and review.
Other Transactions and Responsibilities, including:
- Payments and Advances related to multi-bank participation and syndication loans.
- Maintenance of complex multi-property credit facilities.
- Serviced loans: processing daily payment/advance ledgers from third-party servicer, including related remittances, receipts, and balancing tasks.
- Other duties and functions as assigned.
Minimum Education & Experience
- High School Diploma
- 5 years of experience in commercial loan operations
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Strong experience with commercial bank core systems (FiServ Premier/Navigator a plus)
- Strong experience with commercial loan account set up and monetary transaction processing
- Solid working knowledge of loan transaction accounting and balancing
- Practical knowledge of lending and banking policies, procedures, and regulations
- Working knowledge of commercial loan documents and products
- Solid understanding of loan collateral and lines
- Strong aptitude to learn banking software applications and processing procedures.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work with a variety of assigned tasks in a timely fashion.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook
Compensation
- Base Salary Range: $29.60 - $37.00 annually / hourly. Final determination of where you are at in the salary range is based on numerous factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, skill set, education, and ability to meet qualifications within the job description.
- Additional Compensation: This role will include a yearly annual target bonus based on individual performance.
