About NODA
NODA is a veteran-owned, venture-backed technology company that is transforming how unmanned systems collaborate in complex, mission-critical environments. We are developing next-generation solutions that enable the autonomous orchestration of heterogeneous unmanned systems across air, sea, land, and space with vital applications in the defense, intelligence, and commercial sectors.
Our Platform Engineers are the backbone of our ability to rapidly iterate and deploy mission-critical software across diverse environments. They ensure our orchestration software and autonomy stacks move seamlessly from development to cloud, on-premises, and edge deployments with the reliability our defense and commercial customers demand.
Joining NODA means working on meaningful technology that pushes the boundaries of autonomy alongside a team that thrives on innovation, rapid iteration, and collaboration.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to architect and maintain the infrastructure foundation that powers our autonomous vehicle orchestration platform. You'll own the deployment pipelines, infrastructure automation, and security frameworks that enable our engineering teams to deliver software across AWS cloud, on-premises data centers, and edge computing environments on autonomous vehicles.
This role focuses on building scalable, secure, and compliant infrastructure systems rather than machine learning operations. You'll work closely with our engineering teams to ensure rapid, reliable deployments while meeting stringent DoD security requirements and maintaining operational resilience in contested environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deploying ROS2-based microservices and orchestration software across multiple environments
Implement container orchestration using Docker, with a growth path toward Kubernetes as the platform scales
Manage AWS cloud infrastructure, on-premises deployments, and edge device provisioning for autonomous vehicle fleets
Develop infrastructure automation and configuration management tools to ensure consistent, repeatable deployments
Implement and maintain DoD IL4/IL5 security compliance, including encryption, access controls, and audit logging
Build internal tooling and CLI utilities to improve developer productivity and deployment reliability
Design observability and monitoring systems for distributed autonomous vehicle orchestration across multiple domains
Ensure infrastructure resilience and disaster recovery capabilities for mission-critical deployments
Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize deployment strategies for constrained edge computing environments
Support field deployment operations and troubleshoot infrastructure issues during customer demonstrations
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure automation
Expert-level proficiency with Docker containerization and container orchestration concepts
Strong experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, ECS, S3, VPC, IAM,
CloudFormation/Terraform)
Proficiency with CI/CD pipeline design and implementation (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
Knowledge of Linux system administration and networking fundamentals
Understanding of security best practices for enterprise and government environments
Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar)
Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or similar languages
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
CompTIA Security+ and Network+ certifications (required for DoD infrastructure administration)
Experience with Kubernetes orchestration and service mesh technologies
Familiarity with DoD security standards and compliance frameworks (IL4/IL5, STIG, FedRAMP)
Experience deploying software to embedded or edge computing platforms (Jetson,
Raspberry Pi, tactical computers)
Knowledge of ROS2 middleware and robotics software deployment patterns
Background in defense, aerospace, or mission-critical infrastructure environments
Experience with tactical networking and field deployment operations
Familiarity with zero-trust architecture and secure communications protocols
Previous work with real-time systems and low-latency networking requirements
Familiarity with contracts and schema/versioning for middleware services (e.g., ROS 2)
