Partner with cross-functional teams across Retail, eCommerce, and Supply Chain to design and deliver scalable, reliable software systems supporting automated warehouse and fulfillment operations; Provide technical leadership for automation, quality engineering, and performance validation, helping define best practices and raising engineering standards across multiple teams; Design, implement, and maintain automation frameworks and test infrastructure across API, service, UI, and data layers, integrated into CI/CD pipelines and modern cloud-native workflows; Lead performance, load, and reliability testing efforts, including capacity analysis and failure-mode validation, to ensure systems meet throughput, latency, and availability requirements; Develop and apply Discrete Event Simulation (DES) and system-level models to analyze throughput, utilization, and bottlenecks within warehouse, fulfillment, and material handling environments; Collaborate closely with software engineers to integrate testing, simulation, and observability tooling into production-like environments, enabling continuous feedback and data-driven improvements; Contribute to the design and delivery of intelligent solutions, including Agentic AI workflows, Computer Vision–based quality evaluation, and LLM enabled capabilities, with a focus on practical application, evaluation, and reliability; Translate business and operational requirements into clear technical designs, balancing scalability, reliability, cost, and maintainability; Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions by leading design discussions, code reviews, and architecture reviews within and across teams; Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends across Retail, eCommerce, Supply Chain automation, and AI, applying relevant innovations to improve system performance and operational efficiency. Up to 10% domestic travel may be required. Partial telecommuting permitted; on-site at 8100 Nations Way Jacksonville, FL 32256 when not telecommuting. Salary: $201,571 - $221,571 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field, plus 7 years of professional experience as a Staff Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, or Senior Software Developer, or any occupation, job title, or position supporting Retail and eCommerce platforms.
Must also have experience in the following: 7 years of professional experience designing, building, and maintaining high-throughput, high-availability distributed systems supporting Retail and eCommerce platforms and related business domains, with deep expertise in scalability, resiliency, fault tolerance, capacity planning, and operational excellence; 7 years of professional experience utilizing modern programming languages to build production software systems, automation frameworks, and test infrastructure in Java, Python, JavaScript, and Go, with strong proficiency in DB, SQL, and NoSQL databases; 5 years of professional experience designing and implementing automation frameworks across API, Service, and data layers using tools including Postman, JUnit, aligned with shift-left and test-pyramid best practices; 5 years of professional experience utilizing Git, Unix/Linux, Docker, and cloud-native development workflows to build, operate, and debug large-scale Retail and eCommerce systems; 5 years of professional experience designing and executing load, stress, and performance testing for high-volume Retail and eCommerce systems using open-source tools (including JMeter and k6), and performing workload modeling, results analysis, and reliability validation; 5 years of professional experience building, scaling, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation platforms (including GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins), enabling reliable delivery and test execution across multiple teams; 5 years of professional experience working with Retail, eCommerce, and fulfillment systems, including order management, inventory, and warehouse management (WMS); 2 years of professional experience building test harnesses and evaluation frameworks; 2 years of professional experience setting technical direction, leading cross-team architecture initiatives, mentoring senior engineers, and driving organization-wide engineering standards with clear alignment to business outcomes.
